What is Orthodox Christianity?
A community of churches around the world that adhere to the teachings of the Seven Ecumenical Councils concerning one particular statement: Who is Jesus? The unifying statement of those councils is this: Jesus Christ is fully God and fully man. If he were not God, he would not have accomplished anything toward our salvation. If he were not a man, then our humanity would remain unchanged. Therefore, all seven councils hinge on that one statement of theology.
